    $50.00

The ADJUSTABLE WALL MOUNTED FLAG POLE and BRACKET is an ideal way to display your favourite flag. The aluminium telescopic pole extends in 3 stages, with each extending segment requiring a twist to lock into place. When closed fully the pole's 75cm, and at 2nd stage it's 1.25m and when fully extended 1.8 metres. At the base there's a rubber sleeved hand grip, so you can use it as a hand held pole and this also sits neatly into the supplied wall mounting bracket. Simply screw the bracket to your wall, (screws included) and once in position the flag pole bracket can be adjusted to the required angle, with its adjustable ratchet, then clip on your flag and you'll be proudly exhibiting your flag in no time! Flag sizes upto 5ft x 3ft (1.5 x 0.9m) can be used The aluminium telescopic pole weighs 0.26 kg and the mounting bracket weighs 0.19 kg Important note about images we provide : Just as we sometimes see that “pricing is subject to change without notice”, so too are “designs subject to change without notice”. In 99.99% of cases, what you see on Dixie’s website or brochure is what you get. However, there are the odd times when designs have changed in some small way (eg: maybe a logo moves to a different location on the item, or the colour changes). Sometimes this information doesn’t always trickle down until the new designs are manufactured and shipped to Dixie. We hope this is helpful and understandable.

The DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA FLAG is available only in one size 3x2ft (90x60cm) Wikipedia tells us that the Democratic Republic of Georgia existed from May 1918 to February 1921 and was the first modern establishment of a Republic of Georgia. The DRG was created after the collapse of the Russian Empire that began with the Russian Revolution of 1917. Its established borders were with the Kuban People's Republic and the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus in the north, the Ottoman Empire and the First Republic of Armenia in the south, and the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the southeast. It had a total land area of roughly 107,600 km² (by comparison, the total area of today's Georgia is 69,700 km²), and a population of 2.5 million. The republic's capital was Tbilisi, and its state language was Georgian. Proclaimed on May 26, 1918, on the break-up of the Transcaucasian Federation, it was led by the Georgian Social Democratic Party (Menshevik). Facing permanent internal and external problems, the young state was unable to withstand invasion by the Russian SFSR Red Armies, and collapsed between February and March 1921 to become a Soviet republic. Flags come in various types as described below and sizes are commonly referred to in feet rather than metres, so please read about the various types of flag below and then make your selection from the drop down menu Decorative Flags: These have 2 grommets on LHS sleeve and are printed on polyester which makes for a lightweight flag with a variety of uses such as flying on indoor poles or wall décor. There are two common sizes in decorative flags which are 5x3ft (150x90cm) and the smaller 3x2ft (90x60cm) Outdoor Flagpole Flags: These are a ‘trilobal’ material which is a knitted polyester for outdoor flag use which is long life, open weave, quick wicking and drying Note this is knitted polyester and not a woven polyester, with the latter being weaker and lighter fabric unsuitable for outdoor use. Our flags have double-stitched hems, and sewn loops so that you can attach Sista clips to secure them to the pole’s cords. • KUWAIT

    $3.00$90.00

The flag of Kuwait was adopted in 1961. Before 1961, the flag of Kuwait was red and white, like those of other Persian Gulf states at the time, with the field being red and words or charges being written in white. Until 1899, the flag consisted solely of a red field. From 1899 to 1915, the red field bore a white crescent and star and, also in white, the word "كويت" (Kuwait). From 1899 to 1909, the crescent-and-star symbol and the country's name were of equal height; between 1909 and 1915, the crescent and star predominated at the center, with the country's name reduced in size and relegated to the top fly-side corner. Between 1915 and 1956, the crescent and star were removed and the name was enlarged and returned to the center of the flag. Between 1956 and 1961, the crescent and star remained absent, the name was written in a different style placing greater emphasis on the word-initial K, the hoist side of the flag bore a wavy white bordure, and the Shahadah was written vertically and oriented so as to be read top-to-bottom. The present flag is in the Pan-Arab colours, but each colour is also significant in its own right. Black represents the defeat of the enemy, while red is the colour of blood on the Kuwaiti swords. White symbolizes purity, and green is for the fertile land. • BUDDHIST

    $3.00$28.00

The BUDDHIST flag is a flag designed in the late 19th century to symbolize and universally represent Buddhism, and is used by Buddhists throughout the world. The flag was originally designed in 1885 by the Colombo Committee, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was first hoisted in public on Vesak day, 28 May 1885 at the Dipaduttamarama, Kotahena, by Ven. Migettuwatte Gunananda Thera. This was the first Vesak public holiday under British rule. Colonel Henry Steel Olcott, an American journalist, founder and first president of the Theosophical Society, felt that its long streaming shape made it inconvenient for general use. He therefore suggested modifying it so that it was the size and shape of national flags. In 1889 the modified flag was introduced to Japan by Anagarika Dharmapala and Olcott—who presented it to Emperor Meiji—and subsequently to Burma. At the 1952 World Fellowship of Buddhists, the flag of Buddhists was adopted as the International Buddhist Flag. Flags come in various types as described below and sizes are commonly referred to in feet rather than metres Decorative Flags: These have 2 grommets on LHS sleeve and are printed on polyester which makes for a lightweight flag with a variety of uses such as flying on indoor poles or wall décor. • BANGLADESH

    $3.00$78.00

The BANGLADESH FLAG was adopted officially on 17 January 1972. It consists of a red disc on top of a green field, offset slightly toward the hoist so that it appears centred when the flag is flying. The red disc represents the sun rising over Bengal, and also the blood of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. The green field stands for the lushness of the land of Bangladesh. The flag is based on a similar flag used during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which had a yellow map of the country inside the red disc. In 1972 this map was deleted from the flag. One reason given was the difficulty for rendering the map correctly on both sides of the flag. They are great for supporting favourite sports team; decoration in parades, marches and occasional flying on an outdoor flagpole. We emphasise these flags are not designed for prolonged flying on flagpoles as sun and wind would affect the lightweight material very quickly. The CONFEDERATE FLAG is well known internationally. However, it has a checkered/controversial history and was rejected as the US national flag in 1861 but it was instead adopted as a battle flag by the Army of Northern Virginia under General Lee. Despite never having historically represented the USA as a country nor officially recognized as one of the national flags, the CONFEDERATE  flag is commonly referred to as "the Confederate Flag" and has become a widely recognized symbol of the South. The CONFEDERATE FLAG is also known as the REBEL, DIXIE, or SOUTHERN CROSS and is often incorrectly referred to as the "Stars and Bars". The actual "Stars and Bars" is the first national flag, which used an entirely different design). Some groups such as the Ku Klux Klan have flown it and some rockabilly fans hold the battle flag as their emblem. In Australia the Rebels Motorcycle Club was originally named the "Confederates" and their insignia is a Rebel flag with a cap-wearing skull and 1% patch in the centre. The AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY FLAG was was officially adopted by the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly in 1993. The flag differs from the Australian state flags as it is not a defaced British Blue Ensign. It is similar in design to the flag of the Northern Territory. The flag uses the Canberra city colours of blue and gold (which also happen to be the heraldic colours of Australia). The Southern Cross appears as five white stars on a blue panel at the hoist, whilst in the centre of the gold field in the fly is the modified arms of the City of Canberra. The flag was designed by Ivo Ostyn. In 1988 and 1992 competitions for a proposed new flag were held, in which artists and residents of the ACT could put forth their designs for the new flag. Subsequently the current flag won the competition. The ACT Legislative Assembly then officially adopted this flag in 1993. The ceremony was further acknowledged by a 19-gun salute from HMAS Derwent.
