This REAL MEN DRIVE HOLDENS frame is specifically designed to fit around a standard size Australian number plate measuring 37.2 x 13.2cm, as used in all states. Please note that these days there are many sizes and shapes of number plate so it’s best to measure and ensure our frame will fit your plate.

The frames are injection moulded plastic (ABS UV resistant), and the characters are applied as durable high quality vinyl. The vinyl stickers are printed on professional sign-making printers and precision cut on a plotter with a very small blade. They are weatherproof and have an expected lifespan of 5-7 years

Important note about images we provide for novelty frames: Just as we sometimes see that “pricing is subject to change without notice”, so too are “designs subject to change without notice”. In 99.99% of cases, what you see on Dixie’s website or brochure is what you get. However, there are the odd times when designs, colours or fonts may vary slightly from batch to batch. We hope this is helpful and understandable

  • HOLDEN FIRST AND LAST

Our HOLDEN FIRST AND LAST is of course a commemorative plate in recognition of Holden car manufacturing in Australia. Sadly, the iconic Australian car manufacturer HOLDEN ceased vehicle and engine production in Australia on 20 October 2017. Holden began manufacturing cars in Port Melbourne in 1948 but the Elizabeth facility didn’t open until 1958, initially building car bodies before becoming a vehicle assembly line in 1965. Holden factories at other sites in NSW, Queensland and Victoria followed before they too were shut. In the end, Holden will have built a total of 7.6 million cars — including more than 2.3 million Commodores, not including exports — versus Ford Australia’s tally of 5.9 million vehicles and Toyota Australia’s total of 3.4 million. The 48-215 was the first model from General Motors in Australia to bear the Holden name. In mainstream parlance, the official name of "Holden 48-215" was eschewed in favour of the shortened "Holden" designation. Following the replacement of the first Holden, the 48-215 gained the unofficial nickname of Holden FX The 7,687,675th vehicle to be produced by the company and the last car that rolled off the production line in Holden’s Elizabeth factory in Adelaide’s northern suburbs was a Redline Holden Commodore SS-V, which is expected to be a collector’s item. That historic occasion marked the end of almost a century of automotive manufacturing for Australia, and 69 years for Holden. It was the end of the era for the Australian car manufacturing industry There are two versions of this plate as shown in the gallery and drop down menu. One with a plain background and the other with the Aussie flag background This popular plate comes standard as completely flat and non-embossed but for a little more cost we are able to give it a pressed out embossed border, so you have a choice. Please select your preference from the drop down menu. These novelty number  plates are made from high quality aluminium and the artwork applied by a dye sublimation process with a lovely gloss finish. They measure 37 x 13 cm, exactly the same as the traditional fully embossed type of plate and look just like our other Aussie made novelty number plates; even the mounting holes are in exactly the same positions, so they can easily be hung on display indoors or outdoors. One great advantage the flat non-embossed version is that owing to the absence of embossed border, and being just under 1 mm thick, it’s quite flexible and will flex about 10 cm from the centre, so can be mounted on curved surfaces. Each embossed rim style plate is sealed in a clear plastic sleeve, and each flat non-embossed plate is shrink-sealed in plastic film, so both types are ready for retail display, plus we offer the option of fixing them to a cardboard display card, so they can then be hung and displayed on the same display racks that are used for the other Aussie size plates we sell. • HOLDEN VT CALAIS

Our HOLDEN VT CALAIS is of course the car manufactured by Holden in Australia. The Holden Commodore is a car manufactured since 1978 by Holden in Australia and formerly in New Zealand. Production in Australia ceased on 20 October 2017. Wiki tells us that the Holden Commodore (VT) is an executive car that was produced by the Australian manufacturer Holden from 1997 to 2000. It was the first iteration of the third generation of this Australian made model and the last one to be powered by a locally made V8 engine (1999). Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VT) and Holden Calais (VT) but not a new generation utility version. Introduced in August 1997, the VT-series represented Holden's largest development yet. On debut, it won the 1997 Wheels Car of the Year award, resulting in the fourth time that this award was won by a Commodore. It found ready acceptance in the market as many buyers steered away from the more radically designed Ford Falcon (AU), becoming the best selling Commodore and cementing its place as number one in Australian sales at its time. A VT Series II (VT II) was released in 1999, before being replaced by the restyled VX model in 2000. In 1998, the VT formed the basis of a prototype that became the catalyst for the re-introduction in 2001 of the Holden Monaro coupé—a nameplate on hiatus since 1977. • HOLDEN EH SEDAN

The HOLDEN EH SEDAN novelty number plate refers to the Holden EH automobile produced by General Motors-Holden in Australia from 1963 to 1965. The EH was released in August 1963 replacing the Holden EJ series and was the first Holden to incorporate the new "Red" engine, with a 7 main bearing crankshaft instead of the 4 main bearing crankshaft used in the "Grey" engine. The larger capacity 149 ci (2400cc) engine was first only sold attached to a three-speed manual gear box or the "Hydramatic" three-speed automatic transmission with a (column shift). The 179 ci (2900cc) engine was only sold with the "Hydramatic" three-speed. The first EH with a 179 ci engine and a manual gear box, was called the "EH-S4". The 179ci engine then became available with an up-graded manual gear box, with stronger gears then the 149ci gear box. The three-speed manual (column shift) gear boxes had no synchromesh on first gear, requiring double de-clutching. The 179 ci manual also used an up-graded clutch. A total of 256,959 EH Holdens were produced and sold from 1963 to 1965, when the EH was replaced by the Holden HD series. Holden EH's were offered in the following models: Standard Sedan; Standard Station Sedan; Special Sedan; Special Station Sedan; S4 Special Sedan; Premier Sedan; Premier Station Sedan; Ute (Utility) and Panel Van.
