It is a where “guys can do as they please” without fear of upsetting any female sensibility about house decor or design. It has been called the “last bastion of masculinity“. While “the wife” may have substantial authority over the house in terms of design and decoration, she generally has no say about what goes on or what gets displayed on the walls of a man’s personal space, so in reality, a man cave is a reaction to feminine domestic power.
