Our HOLDEN VT COMMODORES SIX is of course the car manufactured by Holden in Australia. VT (1997–2000) The Holden Commodore is a car manufactured since 1978 by Holden in Australia and formerly in New Zealand. Production in Australia ceased on 20 October 2017. Wiki tells us that the Holden Commodore (VT) is an executive car that was produced by the Australian manufacturer Holden from 1997 to 2000. It was the first iteration of the third generation of this Australian made model and the last one to be powered by a locally made V8 engine (1999). Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VT) and Holden Calais (VT) but not a new generation utility version.
Introduced in August 1997, the VT-series represented Holden’s largest development yet. On debut, it won the 1997 Wheels Car of the Year award, resulting in the fourth time that this award was won by a Commodore. It found ready acceptance in the market as many buyers steered away from the more radically designed Ford Falcon (AU), becoming the best selling Commodore and cementing its place as number one in Australian sales at its time.
This commemorative plate was introduced in recognition of the VT being the highest selling Commodore model with more than 303,000 built.
A VT Series II (VT II) was released in 1999, before being replaced by the restyled VX model in 2000. In 1998, the VT formed the basis of a prototype that became the catalyst for the re-introduction in 2001 of the Holden Monaro coupé—a nameplate on hiatus since 1977.

This popular plate is flat and has no embossed characters but has a pressed out embossed border, made from high quality aluminium and the artwork applied by a dye sublimation process with a lovely gloss finish. They measure 37 x 13 cm, exactly the same as the traditional fully embossed type of plate and look just like our other Aussie made novelty number plates; even the mounting holes are in exactly the same positions, so they can easily be hung on display indoors or outdoors.
Important note about images we provide for novelty signs and plates: Just as we sometimes see that “pricing is subject to change without notice”, so too are “designs subject to change without notice”. In 99.99% of cases, what you see on Dixie’s website or brochure is what you get. However, there are the odd times when designs have changed in some small way (eg: maybe a logo moves to a different location on the item, or the colour changes). Sometimes this information doesn’t always trickle down until the new designs are manufactured and shipped to Dixie. We hope this is helpful and understandable

HOLDEN COMMODORE TRIO – VH VK VL
$25.10HOLDEN COMMODORE TRIO - VH VK VL is of course the car manufactured since 1978 by Holden in Australia (and, formerly, in New Zealand). For the original model, Holden replaced the long-serving Kingswood and Premier large cars developed in Australia, based on a smaller European design by Opel, re-engineered for Australian conditions. Initially introduced as a single sedan body style, the range expanded in 1979 to include a station wagon. From 1984, Holden began branding the flagship Commodore model as Holden Calais, with the Commodore Berlina introduced in 1984. Long-wheelbase Statesman/Caprice derivatives and Commodore utility body variants followed in 1990. The third generation architecture spawned the most body styles, with a new Holden utility launched in 2000 (now officially as the Holden Ute), reborn Monaro coupé in 2001, four-door Holden Crewman utility and all-wheel drive (AWD) Holden Adventra crossover in 2003. Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) in 1987 began official modification of high performance variants of the Commodore and its derivatives, under its own nameplate. Rivalry came predominantly from the Ford Falcon—also locally built. HOLDEN MODELS
$25.00Sadly, the iconic Australian car manufacturer HOLDEN ceased vehicle and engine production in Australia on 20 October 2017. The last car that rolled off the production line in Holden’s Elizabeth factory in Adelaide’s northern suburbs was a red Holden Commodore, which is expected to be a collector’s item. That historic occasion marked the end of almost a century of automotive manufacturing for Australia, and 69 years for Holden. It was the end of the era for the Australian car manufacturing industry. Our HOLDEN MODELS series of plates is very comprehensive featuring several generations of Holdens as shown in the drop down menu - FB FJ, FE, FC, FB, EK, EJ, EH, HD, HR, HK, HT, HG, HQ, HJ, HX, HZ, WB, VB, VC, VE, VF, VH, VK, VL, VN, VP, VR, VS, VT, VX, VY, VZ These HOLDEN MODELS novelty plates are all the two colour pressed embossed standard Aussie size 37cm x 13cm aluminium plate. Our plates are extremely high quality, durable and long lasting and we are proud to say this HOLDEN MODELS range is manufactured in Queensland, Australia. We also have a comprehensive range of pictorial Holden model novelty number plates which can be seen in another post For protection during delivery we use extra packing materials to ensure they arrive in tip-top condition, and tese novelty plates can be hung anywhere inside or outside as each is pre-drilled so ready to hang. PLEASE NOTE they are for decoration only as officially the authorities say “Attachment of a novelty number plate to a vehicle could attract the interest of law enforcement officers should it affect the visibility of, or distract from, or imply it is, the actual registration plate of the vehicle.” Important note about images we provide for novelty signs and plates: Just as we sometimes see that “pricing is subject to change without notice”, so too are “designs subject to change without notice”. HOLDEN FIRST AND LAST
$25.10Our HOLDEN FIRST AND LAST is of course a commemorative plate in recognition of Holden car manufacturing in Australia. Sadly, the iconic Australian car manufacturer HOLDEN ceased vehicle and engine production in Australia on 20 October 2017. Holden began manufacturing cars in Port Melbourne in 1948 but the Elizabeth facility didn’t open until 1958, initially building car bodies before becoming a vehicle assembly line in 1965. Holden factories at other sites in NSW, Queensland and Victoria followed before they too were shut. In the end, Holden will have built a total of 7.6 million cars — including more than 2.3 million Commodores, not including exports — versus Ford Australia’s tally of 5.9 million vehicles and Toyota Australia’s total of 3.4 million. The 48-215 was the first model from General Motors in Australia to bear the Holden name. In mainstream parlance, the official name of "Holden 48-215" was eschewed in favour of the shortened "Holden" designation. Following the replacement of the first Holden, the 48-215 gained the unofficial nickname of Holden FX The 7,687,675th vehicle to be produced by the company and the last car that rolled off the production line in Holden’s Elizabeth factory in Adelaide’s northern suburbs was a Redline Holden Commodore SS-V, which is expected to be a collector’s item. That historic occasion marked the end of almost a century of automotive manufacturing for Australia, and 69 years for Holden. It was the end of the era for the Australian car manufacturing industry There are two versions of this plate as shown in the gallery and drop down menu. One with a plain background and the other with the Aussie flag background This plate has no embossed characters but has a pressed out embossed border and is made from high quality aluminium and the artwork applied by a dye sublimation process with a lovely gloss finish. They measure 37 x 13 cm, exactly the same as the traditional fully embossed type of plate and look just like our other Aussie made novelty number plates; even the mounting holes are in exactly the same positions, so they can easily be hung on display indoors or outdoors. HOLDEN HG MONARO GTS350
$23.50 – $25.10Our HOLDEN HG MONARO GTS350 is of course the iconic Holden. The HOLDEN MONARO was an automobile produced by General Motors-Holden's in Australia between 1968 and 1977 and between 2001 and 2006. Three generations of the Monaro have been produced, with the last spawning an all wheel-drive variant, export models and various concept cars. Released on 26 July 1970, the HG Monaro was the last of the original coupé design concept. HG had cleaner lines with brightwork reduced and some re-designed. The HG sported different striping which were known as "sidewinder" stripes which ran along the top edge of the fenders, under the windows and finishing just before the rear pillar. The "Monaro" badge on both rear pillars was introduced to all models. For the HG GTS, the "GTS" badges now featured black paint fill, received new black-out paint on rocker panels, with the GTS 350 getting bold treatment with new "sidewinder" stripes and bonnet scoop black-outs. "GTS 350" designations now featured gutsier decals on the fenders and boot lid. Wheel arch moldings were deleted on all models. The "GTS 350" models no longer had the 350 Chevrolet badge on the fender, but rather a bold decal stating "350" as well as blackouts that covered the air-vents on the bonnet. The GTS badge originally above the gills in the fenders would be removed and would now be black instead of red (with the badges being placed on the passenger side of the grille and boot). The taillights had a cleaner look and the grille was redesigned. Most mechanical specifications remained the same as HT series, with the exception of Monaro GTS (non-350), which had softened suspension, resulting in a smoother ride. Manual HG GTS 350 retained the suspension from the HT GTS 350. Other upgrades included thicker (HT GTS 350 style) power front disc brakes, now standard for all V8 and the 6-cylinder Monaro GTS. The HG would be the final model for the generation and the last to use the original body shell. This plate has no embossed characters but has a pressed out embossed border and is made from high quality aluminium and the artwork applied by a dye sublimation process with a lovely gloss finish. They measure 37 x 13 cm, exactly the same as the traditional fully embossed type of plate and look just like our other Aussie made novelty number plates; even the mounting holes are in exactly the same positions, so they can easily be hung on display indoors or outdoors.
