The 1914 INDIAN JACOBS ART OF MOTORCYCLE sign is from the studio of Scott Jacobs, where an original can set you back 750USD

Scott’s website says “Whether it’s a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, classic car, fine bottle of wine or a delicate dew covered flower, Scott’s attention to detail supersedes all expectation. Every detail is perfection, right down to the reflections within reflections. Admirers are often surprised to discover that the image before them is not a photograph, but a Scott Jacobs original painting.”

“After receiving a paint set as a gift from his wife Sharon, the creative juices began to flow and, as in high school, Scott started painting and drawing things that interested him like motorcycles and cars. At a major art show in New York, his ultimate dream of becoming a famous artist grew a step closer when he captured the art buying public’s attention with a couple of Harley-Davidson paintings. While also getting Harley-Davidson’s attention; he became their first ever officially licensed artist in 1993. As interest in his Photo-Realist paintings grew he expanded his repertoire to include wine and spirits still-lifes, classic cars and lifestyle imagery. His artworks now hang in museums, galleries and private collections in over sixty countries. Taking his art seriously was a major turning point in Scott’s success, as well as a few fortuitous real estate ventures. His career has allowed him to continue to be true to his values of personal responsibility by giving something back to his community in any way he possibly can. He has contributed his time and money to many charities over the last thirty years and hopes to continue to do the most rewarding thing he can think of: HELPING OTHERS IN NEED. This was witnessed by millions when Scott and his youngest daughter, Alexa appeared on ABC’s, Secret Millionaire in June 2012.

  • INDIAN ROADMASTER RED – AMERICAS FIRST MOTORCYCLE COMPANY

Note - this sign replaces one called INDIAN - AMERICAS PIONEER MOTORCYCLE which went out of production. The image is identical and only the wording has changed Our INDIAN ROADMASTER RED - AMERICAS FIRST MOTORCYCLE COMPANY refers to the Indian brand of motorcycles originally manufactured from 1901 to 1953 by a company in Springfield, Massachusetts, US, initially known as the Hendee Manufacturing Company but which was renamed the Indian Motocycle Manufacturing Company in 1928. The Indian factory team took the first three places in the 1911 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. During the 1910s Indian became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. Indian's most popular models were the Scout, made from 1920 to 1946, and the Chief, made from 1922 to 1953. The Indian Motocycle Manufacturing Company went bankrupt in 1953. A number of successor organizations have perpetuated the name in subsequent years, with limited success. In 2011 Polaris Industries purchased Indian Motorcycles and relocated operations from North Carolina, merging them into existing facilities in Minnesota and Iowa. Since August 2013, three motorcycle models that capitalize on Indian's traditional styling have been built under the Indian name. 1901 Prototype and two production units successfully designed, built and tested. 1902 First Indian Motorcycle®, featuring innovative chain drives and streamlined styling, sold to public. 1903 Indian Motorcycle® co-founder and chief engineer Oscar Hedstrom sets world motorcycle speed record (56mph). 1904 Crimson Steed of Steel paint scheme introduced; Indian Motorcycle® wins Gold Medal for Mechanical Excellence at St. Louis Exposition. 1906 Indian Motorcycle® releases first American production V-Twin after several years of development and testing; 101 years later V-Twin remains most popular cruiser-motorcycle engine design. 1906 George Holden and Luis J. Mueller ride an Indian Motorcycle® from San Francisco to New York City in 31 trouble-free days, breaking the existing record by over 18 days. 1906 A 1907 Indian Motorcycle® Twin wins the first English 1000-mile reliability trial. 1907 New York Police Department selects Indian Motorcycle® for first motorcycle police unit. 1908 Indian Motorcycle® "loop frame" positions gas tank on front horizontal frame member, other makers eventually follow suit; basic configuration still used by virtually all motorcycles.
