  • DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA

The DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA FLAG is available only in one size 3x2ft (90x60cm) Wikipedia tells us that the Democratic Republic of Georgia existed from May 1918 to February 1921 and was the first modern establishment of a Republic of Georgia. The DRG was created after the collapse of the Russian Empire that began with the Russian Revolution of 1917. Its established borders were with the Kuban People's Republic and the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus in the north, the Ottoman Empire and the First Republic of Armenia in the south, and the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the southeast. It had a total land area of roughly 107,600 km² (by comparison, the total area of today's Georgia is 69,700 km²), and a population of 2.5 million. The republic's capital was Tbilisi, and its state language was Georgian. Proclaimed on May 26, 1918, on the break-up of the Transcaucasian Federation, it was led by the Georgian Social Democratic Party (Menshevik). Facing permanent internal and external problems, the young state was unable to withstand invasion by the Russian SFSR Red Armies, and collapsed between February and March 1921 to become a Soviet republic. However, in some European countries children receive their presents on St. Nicholas' Day, 6 December. The modern figure of Santa Claus is derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, whose name is a dialectal pronunciation of Saint Nicholas, the historical Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra. During the Christianization of Germanic Europe, this figure may have absorbed elements of the god Odin, who was associated with the Germanic pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky. Over time, traits of this character and the British folklore character Father Christmas merged to form the modern Santa Claus known today.Santa Claus is generally depicted as a portly, joyous, white-bearded man—sometimes with spectacles—wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots and who carries a bag full of gifts for children. Images of him rarely have a beard with no moustache. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of the 1823 poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast. This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, children's books and films.Since the 20th century, in an idea popularized by the 1934 song "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town", Santa Claus has been believed to make a list of children throughout the world, categorizing them according to their behavior ("naughty" or "nice") and to deliver presents, including toys, and candy to all of the well-behaved children in the world, and sometimes coal to the naughty children, on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this feat with the aid of the elves who make the toys in the workshop and the flying reindeer who pull his sleigh. He is commonly portrayed as living at the North Pole and saying "ho ho ho" often.

  • BANGLADESH

The BANGLADESH FLAG was adopted officially on 17 January 1972. It consists of a red disc on top of a green field, offset slightly toward the hoist so that it appears centred when the flag is flying. The red disc represents the sun rising over Bengal, and also the blood of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. The green field stands for the lushness of the land of Bangladesh. The flag is based on a similar flag used during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which had a yellow map of the country inside the red disc. In 1972 this map was deleted from the flag. One reason given was the difficulty for rendering the map correctly on both sides of the flag. Please read about the various types of flag below and then make your selection from the drop down menuFlags come in various types as described below and sizes are commonly referred to in feet rather than metresDecorative Flags: These have 2 grommets on LHS sleeve and are printed on polyester which makes for a lightweight flag with a variety of uses such as flying on indoor poles or wall décor. • USA CONFEDERATE REBEL

The USA CONFEDERATE FLAG is well known internationally. However, it has a checkered/controversial history and was rejected as the US national flag in 1861 but it was instead adopted as a battle flag by the Army of Northern Virginia under General Lee. Despite never having historically represented the USA as a country nor officially recognized as one of the national flags, the USA CONFEDERATE  flag is commonly referred to as "the Confederate Flag" and has become a widely recognized symbol of the South. The USA CONFEDERATE FLAG is also known as the REBEL, DIXIE, or SOUTHERN CROSS and is often incorrectly referred to as the "Stars and Bars". The actual "Stars and Bars" is the first national flag, which used an entirely different design). Some groups such as the Ku Klux Klan have flown it and some rockabilly fans hold the battle flag as their emblem. In Australia the Rebels Motorcycle Club was originally named the "Confederates" and their insignia is a Rebel flag with a cap-wearing skull and 1% patch in the centre. The NEW SOUTH WALES FLAG was was officially adopted by the government of New South Wales in 1876. The flag is based on the defaced British Blue Ensign with the state badge located in the fly. The badge, based on the coat of arms, is a white disc with the cross of St George, a golden lion passant guardant in the centre of the cross and an eight-pointed gold star on each arm of the cross. This flag was adopted due to criticisms from the British Admiralty that the previous design was too similar to the design of the Victorian flag. • AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY

The AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY FLAG was was officially adopted by the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly in 1993. The flag differs from the Australian state flags as it is not a defaced British Blue Ensign. It is similar in design to the flag of the Northern Territory. The flag uses the Canberra city colours of blue and gold (which also happen to be the heraldic colours of Australia). The Southern Cross appears as five white stars on a blue panel at the hoist, whilst in the centre of the gold field in the fly is the modified arms of the City of Canberra. The flag was designed by Ivo Ostyn. In 1988 and 1992 competitions for a proposed new flag were held, in which artists and residents of the ACT could put forth their designs for the new flag. Subsequently the current flag won the competition. The ACT Legislative Assembly then officially adopted this flag in 1993.Please read about the various types of flag below and then make your selection from the drop down menuFlags come in various types as described below and sizes are commonly referred to in feet rather than metresDecorative Flags: These have 2 grommets on LHS sleeve and are printed on polyester which makes for a lightweight flag with a variety of uses such as flying on indoor poles or wall décor. They are great for supporting favourite sports team; decoration in parades, marches and occasional flying on an outdoor flagpole. We emphasise these flags are not designed for prolonged flying on flagpoles as sun and wind would affect the lightweight material very quickly. There are two common sizes in decorative flags which are 5x3ft (150x90cm) and the smaller 3x2ft (90x60cm)Outdoor Flagpole Flags: These are a ‘trilobal’ material which is a knitted polyester for outdoor flag use which is long life, open weave, quick wicking and dryingNote this is knitted polyester and not a woven polyester, with the latter being weaker and lighter fabric unsuitable for outdoor use.Our flags have double-stitched hems, and sewn loops so that you can attach Sista clips to secure them to the pole’s cords.
